Little Sister Pottery is my collection of ceramics inspired by rhythm, pattern, and landscape- both wild and cultivated. Often referencing the natural theatre of wind whipped grasses, lacy leaf patterns or melting ice and snow, I try to depict depth and movement while also creating moments of stillness and opportunities for reverie. I’m inspired not only by the natural world, but also how we interpret it through folklore, mythology, and superstition. I love that making pottery allows me to work in series, allowing me to fully develop my ideas while giving me the freedom to work on a variety of designs. As my pots are used throughout daily living I hope that they convey a sense of elegance, but also the wonder and playfulness I feel in making them.
